Data centres are the core infrastructure on which information communication technologies such as cloud services, data analytics and the Internet of Things, relies upon to function. The energy costs to run the data centres therefore make up a significant percentage of the operating costs.
The SS 564 Green Data Centre Standard can help organizations to establish systems and processes necessary to improve the energy efficiency of their data centres. This standard is modeled after the ISO 50001 standard on energy management but is specifically tailored to meet the needs of data centres in Singapore.
Partnering with Environmental Market Solutions and Panduit Singapore, TÜV SÜD is organizing a seminar for Energy Efficiency Adoption in Green Data Centres on 13th November. This half-day seminar aims to highlight the benefits of energy efficiency practices in a measurable way by adopting the Green Data Centre Standard, SS 564. There will also be updates in 2015’s version of the Energy Management System (ISO 50001) and more on SS 564’s Green Data Centre for existing or new companies who would be interested to know more about this scheme.
