The Singapore government has set a target of achieving 35% improvement in energy intensity by 2030. With the recent introduction of the Energy Conservation Act, effective since 1 April 2013, energy management practices, submission of energy efficiency improvement plans, energy monitoring and reporting for large energy users has now become mandatory. This is expected to improve the energy performance of companies and increase competitiveness in the global economy.
