Munich - TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH acquired the Belgian company TCOPlus and its affiliate FleetVision this May. By adding the international leading supplier of fleet-management software solutions to its group, TÜV SÜD is further expanding its portfolio of services in this field, underlining its goal of becoming the market leader for fleet services in Europe and beyond.
“The software solutions provided by TCOPlus and FleetVision perfectly complement our portfolio of services. They enable fleet managers to simulate tax effects online and make valid financial predictions”, emphasises Rainer Laber, Business Unit Manager 'Fleet' of the TÜV SÜD Group. “By bringing TCOPlus on board we can now support our clients even more comprehensively than before, helping them to identify and use opportunities for saving.” As an additional benefit for fleet owners, they can fall back on the global network of TÜV SÜD subsidiaries in over 70 countries throughout the world. “Our colleagues on site are familiar with the local situation and legal framework conditions, enabling us to offer our customers individual, tailor-made support at many locations all over the world”, explains Laber
TCOPlus provides services to 120,000 fleet vehicles
TCOPlus has multi-year contracts with several large international customers and currently provides services comprising global reporting and applied fleet-software solutions to as many as 120,000 vehicles. FleetVision provides consulting services for fleet analyses throughout the world. The software solutions of TCOPlus give global fleet operators an overview of the costs and the core data of their international fleets. In addition, the software enables opportunities for savings to be localised within both national and global fleets – taking into account the national car taxation systems of 30 different countries. Beyond contributing to cost transparency, the software solutions thus enable users to forecast trends including tax effects.
On 8 May, TCOPlus and FleetVision became 100% subsidiaries of TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH, operating in the “Fleet” Business Unit, which already provides services to more than 150,000 vehicles today through the Fleet Logistics Group. Bart Vanham and Hans Damen, founders of TCOPlus and FleetVision, will continue to manage the business. Vanham and Damen explain their decision thus: “TÜV SÜD enjoys an excellent reputation in the fleet-management industry, offering a solid financial background and impartiality. For us, becoming part of the largest independent provider of fleet services in Europe was the next logical step.”
