Prevent food contamination in agricultural and food products
Pesticide and insecticide chemicals or products are regularly tested and analyzed for detection of their presence in agricultural and food products by relevant authorities. The use of such chemicals are to increase productivity, quality and variety in our food supply chain. However, contamination issues within the food supply chain may occur if stringent regulations are not in place to safeguard health and well being of consumers.
Pesticide residue on crops are monitored through the use of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs). The most common groups of hazardous chemicals are organochlorine, organophosphurus, pyrethroids and carbamates.
