Richard Hong Chief Executive Officer, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
Mr. Richard Hong has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of TÜV SÜD ASEAN on 1 July 2013. In this new capacity, he oversees TÜV SÜD’s businesses and operations in the ASEAN region including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Prior to this, he was Chief Operating Officer for TÜV SÜD ASEAN and Global ICM Director of TÜV SÜD Product Service.
In his role as Global ICM Director, Mr. Hong successfully built up a global ICM database, charted the growth strategy for the Global ICM business, expanded the network of MRA and MOU partners within TÜV SÜD Group and extended the scope of recognition of TÜV SÜD test reports and certificates worldwide.
With over 18 years of experience in product certification and international compliance management for information technology equipment, home appliances, wireless products and audio-visual (AV) products, Mr. Hong is a much sought after speaker at international conferences and seminars and is also the key representative of TÜV SÜD in international arenas.
He is responsible for the planning and formulating of international, strategic partnerships for the company including China Quality Centre (CQC), Japan Quality Assurance (JQA), Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (HKSTC) etc.
As the expert advisor and appointed member of IE Singapore’s Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Panel of Advisors, Mr. Hong assists Singapore-based enterprises in their internationalization efforts to well-utilize Singapore’s vast network of FTAs.
Mr. Hong was formerly CEO of Sibercert Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of PSB Corporation. He was instrumental in the establishment and management of the entire subsidiary.
Mr. Hong holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, a Master of Science (Industrial & Systems Engineering) from National University of Singapore and a Master of Finance from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
Klaus Langner Chief Financial Officer, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
Mr. Klaus Langner is the Chief Financial Officer of TÜV SÜD ASEAN and oversees the financial function and corporate development of TÜV SÜD’s businesses in Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. He is responsible for financial reporting, budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting and corporate development among others.
He brings 16 years of experience in consulting top management on corporate and business unit strategy, organizational topics, market entry, operational effectiveness, and leading change in organizations. After living in Germany and the United States, he has been based in Singapore for the last 14 year working throughout Asia Pacific with most of his time spent in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Langner was a Partner & Managing Director of a leading strategy consulting firm, The Boston Consulting Group. He also served as a consultant for the United Nations World Food Programme in East Timor and is a passionate advocate for non-profit causes related to improving children welfare, education, disaster and humanitarian relief.
Mr. Langner holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Masters in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
David Lau Head of Real Estate & Infrastructure, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
With effect from 1 July 2013, David will head the ASEAN real estate business and be responsible for setting the overall real estate strategy and direction in the region. Prior to this, he was responsible for TÜV SÜD's Product Service operations in the ASEAN region including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
With over 20 years of experience in the management and development of mechanical testing capabilities, Mr. Lau has designed numerous large-scale testing facilities to test performances of heat pumps, chillers, air conditioners etc. He also has experience in designing big-budget computer control and data acquisition systems, test facilities for facades, fire door, scaffolding, ventilation and hydroponics systems.
Before the acquisition of PSB Corporation by the TÜV SÜD Group in 2006, Mr. Lau was instrumental in helping the corporation achieve SAC-SINGLAS accreditation, the establishment of PSB Corporation's Fire Test Lab and penetration of new overseas markets such as Thailand, Hong Kong and China. He first joined the company as engineer in 1989 when the corporation was still the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR).
Mr Lau holds a Bachelor & Master of Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Buffalo, New York, USA where he majored in Thermal & Fluid Mechanics. To date, Mr Lau has published 6 Technical Papers in international journals and conferences.
Goh Wee Hong Head of Product Service, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
Mr Goh Wee Hong joined TÜV SÜD as Senior Vice President, Product Service on 1 August 2013. In this new capacity, he is responsible for leading and expanding the product service business in the ASEAN region.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Wee Hong has held various leadership roles in the IT, electronics and manufacturing sectors. Prior to this appointment, he was Regional Sales Director at AT&T ASEAN. With AT&T since April 2001, he was instrumental in leading a team of sales professionals in growing the business and supporting the global networking needs of key customers in the region.
Before 2001, Wee Hong was Strategic Account Manager for ECS Computer (Asia) Pte Ltd developing new businesses in manufacturing and distribution markets in Singapore. Prior to joining ECS Computer, he was senior export sales engineer for Molex Singapore Manufacturing Pte Ltd, where he supported sales to the Asia Pacific markets. He has also spent 6 years previously in the testing and certification industry with SGS Singapore where he was responsible for both the manufacturing process audits and quality assurance for computer peripherals and operations of the commercial laboratory.
Wee Hong holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the RMIT University, a Master of Science degree, Information Studies from the Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore.
Shankar Mohan Head of Management Service, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
Mr. Shankar MOHAN, Head of Management Service for TÜV SÜD ASEAN is responsible for setting the overall Management System business unit strategy and direction within the ASEAN region. He is also responsible for aligning corporate and divisional requirements across ASEAN for management system certification.
Mr. Mohan brings with him more than 15 years of experience and was responsible for growing the management system business units in TÜV SÜD South Asia (covering India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka). He is also a qualified Automotive and Management System Auditor, as well as an experienced trainer.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Shankar was working with an automotive component manufacturing and management system consulting firm. He also served as a Quality Management consultant on a freelance basis where he helped to implement quality management system standards as well as best practices in both manufacturing and service sectors.
Mr. Shankar holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering with Automotive as Elective subject. His technical qualification includes Automotive Auditing, QMS, EMS and OHSAS plus software quality management to support the IT and ITES domain.
Alice Neo Head of Industry Service, TÜV SÜD ASEAN
Ms. Alice NEO, Head of Industry Service for TÜV SÜD ASEAN is responsible for leading, driving and developing the Industry Service business in the ASEAN region. She has extensive experience in the field of inspection services and brings with her more than 10 years of experience in developing client engagement program and business development planning.
Ms. Neo is also responsible in developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan to segment and target different markets in the ASEAN region. She is also responsible to develop and collaborate with operations and Country Heads to identify new service capabilities in the ASEAN region.
Ms. Neo holds a Degree in Business Management (majoring in Marketing), SIM – RMIT (Australia).
David Kong General Manager, TÜV SÜD Malaysia
Mr. David Kong was appointed General Manager of TÜV SÜD Malaysia in December 2016. He currently oversees TÜV SÜD’s business and operations in Malaysia.
David brings more than 10 years of experience in sales, business development and marketing arena. Prior to his current position, he previously served as senior executives at Agilent Technologies and Osram Opto Semiconductors in Malaysia. He has wide experience and exposure in the field of wireless communications, test measurement industries and smart energy.
Mr. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Leeds University, United Kingdom.
Sathish Kumar Somuraj General Director, TÜV SÜD Vietnam
Mr. Sathish Kumar Somuraj was appointed General Director of TÜV SÜD Vietnam in 2012. He currently oversees TÜV SÜD’s entire operations in Vietnam.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Somuraj was Senior General Manager – Product Services, TÜV SÜD South Asia, where he was instrumental in the expansion of TÜV SÜD’s softlines business in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. With over 14 years of experience in sales, marketing, quality and production assurance of the textile apparel industry, Mr. Somuraj was also heavily involved in TÜV SÜD’s testing business involving physical and chemical tests for textile, clothing, leather and footwear.
Before his position as Senior General Manager, Mr. Somuraj was National Sales Manager for Softlines Testing in India where he was responsible for all TÜV SÜD’s softlines labs in India. Mr. Somuraij is a sought-after expert speaker on textile testing, inspection, certification, audit and training in India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. He currently holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree from Bangalore University with a specialization in textile technology. He also has a Masters in Business Administration Degree in Operations Management from IGNOU in New Delhi and a Master of Foreign Trade Degree from Pondicherry University. He speaks 5 languages, is a qualified ISO/IEC 17025 lab and SA8000 auditor.
General Manager, TÜV SÜD Indonesia
Mr. Eric Paulsen was appointed General Manager of TÜV SÜD Indonesia on 1st June 2014. In his capacity as country manager, Mr. Paulsen manages all aspects of our Indonesian business and operations. He also focuses on developing local partnerships, which will strengthen the ASEAN network and increase TÜV SÜD’s presence in the local market. Prior to his current role, Mr. Paulsen was Vice President of Corporate Development Asia Pacific, TÜV SÜD AG.
In his role at Corporate Development, Mr. Paulsen drove numerous strategic projects and assessments which impact our global business. He was crucial in building up our Global Lab Excellence Program which was aimed at implementing key performance indicators across our organization’s vast international lab network.
With over 12 years of experience in strategic management and mergers and acquisitions for a diverse range of industries (including 5 years in the testing, inspection and certification industry), one of Mr. Paulsen’s greatest strengths is his analytical mindset while keeping the big picture in focus.
Having grown up in various countries across Europe and in Japan, Mr. Paulsen brings an international background to TÜV SÜD, facilitating the organization to expand its overseas operations. He moved from Munich to Singapore in early 2012 and has been in Indonesia ever since his appointment.
Mr. Paulsen holds a Bachelor (Honours) Degree in International Business & Management Studies from the European Business School London.
Femelyn S. Lati General Manager, TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines
Miss Femelyn Lati was appointed General Manager of TÜV SÜD Philippines in May 2013. She currently oversees TÜV SÜD’s entire operations in the Philippines. Miss Lati holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, from the Philippine School of Business Administration, Quezon City and is a Certified Public Accountant.
She first started her career with the prominent auditing firm, Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. in November 1998 as Associate Auditor. In December 2000, she joined G4S Holding Inc., a leading international security solutions group that specializes in secure outsourcing, assuming the role of Group Finance Controller. She was responsible for the Finance, Treasury, Procurement and Payroll Departments of the G4S Holding group in the Philippines and oversaw budgeting, cash flows, costing and pricing on the various business segments. She established and implemented control measures including the compliance to local as well as international financial reporting.
Miss Lati is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Barangay Bagumbayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BBMPC), a local community based cooperative at her home town in Quezon City. She provides assistance to the officers and members in achieving the objectives of the cooperative for livelihood projects and benefits of members through the credit loans, savings and retail store services of the BBMPC.
In March 2008, Fem joined TÜV SÜD Philippines as Finance Manager. On 1 April 2010 she was promoted to Manager of Management Service (MS), in charge of the overall management system/certification business. She went on to assume Deputy General Manager increasing her responsibilities to the entire operations as well as all other business units of TÜV SÜD Philippines.
Chatvithai Tantraporn General Manager, TÜV SÜD Thailand
Mr. Tantraporn is currently the General Manager of TÜV SÜD Thailand and oversees every aspect of TÜV SÜD’s business operations in Thailand. He is also a key member of TÜV SÜD ASEAN’s senior management team.
With more than 20 years of experience in the global automotive industry, Mr. Tantraporn previously served as senior executives at Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler-Benz AG etc. He drove successful business strategies to raise the profile and business of those automotive companies.
Mr. Tantraporn holds an MBA in Marketing from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Marketing from Thammasat University.
Chok Sin Chai General Manager, TÜV SÜD AL Technologies
Mr. CHOK Sin Chai, General Manager of TÜV SÜD AL Technologies, is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Company’s long term strategy with a view to creating shareholder value. His role also entails being ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the Company’s long and short term plans.
Mr. CHOK brings with him more than 10 years of experience. Prior to this appointment, he was responsible for the setting up the new Civil Engineering Centre within TÜV SÜD PSB. With the acquisition of AL Technologies in November 2013, Mr CHOK took on an enlarged portfolio in the newly merged entity (currently known as TÜV SÜD AL Technologies).
Mr. CHOK holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering (with Project Management) from University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom and MSc Civil Engineering from National University of Singapore, Singapore.
