To promote international energy management and conservation, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched the ISO 50001:2011 for Energy Management Systems in June 2011.
This standard enables organizations to establish systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance, such as its uses, consumption and efficiency levels. These would in turn lead to optimisation of facilities utilisation throughout entire supply chains.
