Initiated by the government, the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Masterplan is a comprehensive plan to create the empowered, high performance workforce needed for competitiveness in our vibrant economy. CET will enable workers to find their niches, seize opportunities in new growth areas and remain relevant and employable. From rank-and-file workers to professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) all employees benefit from training to remain employable with new and better skills.
CET centres feature strongly in the CET Masterplan. The government partners leading education and training providers, from both the public and private sectors, to set up quality CET centres that offer high quality and industry-relevant training courses. Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPRs) enjoy up to 90% funding support for Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) training programmes when they enrol at WDA-appointed CET centres.

Employability Skills (ES) WSQ
Employability skills are often referred to as the set of ‘soft skills, attitudes and actions’ that enable employees to get along with their fellow workers and supervisors and to make sound, critical decisions. Unlike occupational or technical skills, employability skills are generic in nature rather than job specific and cut across all industry types, businesses, and job levels from entry to senior level positions.
This suite encompasses 53 Employability Skills (ES) Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) course modules across these topics: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); Personal Management and Development Skills (PMD); Analytical, Conceptual and Evaluative Skills (ACE); Interpersonal Skills (IP) and Job Safety Skills (JS).
WSQ Service Excellence
Service Excellence programmes are ensconced within Service Quality (SQ) Centre, a product brand under TÜV SÜD PSB Learning. In 2008, SQ Centre became the first national CET Centre for WSQ Service Excellence.
Programmes in this suite are designed to equip management and staff at every level in an organisation with the necessary service mindset, knowledge and skills to deliver service excellence. Enrolments are open to walk-in employed workers and unemployed individuals who are interested in a service career.
